Youth Council Rake and Run!
On a cool crisp  yet  warm Autumn  Sunday afternoon, 38- Youth Council members, and 12 adult chaperones, Tom and Maria Welch, Lisa and Sharon Wichlens, Gary Gaetano, Michelle Guido, Patty Marra, Maro Perras, Christine Tylock, Brian
Trexler, Tom Mc Bride,  and Vickie Giulianelli went to four separate areas of Mechanicville and Stillwater  with rakes, gloves, and bags working for 3 hours raking  leaves for 17 families.
After raking the leaves they signed this card below so that people would know that they were there to serve those in need as disciples of the Lord.
Tom McBride followed the teams with his truck  picking  many bags of leaves to bring them to the McBride farm.
Not all of our teens are represented in these photo's because they were still working in different areas of the two towns.  Be sure to check out the photos below!

Youth Council Halloween Dance

Youth Council Halloween Dance and Fun House was a great success!!
Teens from Grades 6-8 danced up a storm and had a scary good time at the Fun House.  Youth Council members and adults spent several hours creating an unforgettable experience for the youth attending the Halloween dance.  The Friary was completely transformed into a scary good time as youth attending the dance lined up to go several times through the maze of the room of mirrors and crime scenes that would rival the tv show CSI.
The costumes were fun and creative as kids came forward to the tune of Michael Jackson's song "Thriller"  to get judged for prizes.  The food was delicious and our kitchen crew headed by Barb and Stosh Fronczek with their assistants Anthony, Nick, Josh, Angie, James, and Nick  kept things going for the evening serving one treat after the other.  Most importantly our teens and adults gave the kids attending the dance a night to  remember for a long time  and a safe place to enjoy it.   Thank you  to all our adults and youth council members  for their hard work!  Yeah Team!! Check out the pictures below!

Scenes from World Youth Day Liturgy Celebration:
World Youth Day was started by Pope John Paul II 25 years ago!   The pope was energized by young people for he saw in them the exuberant presence of the Holy Spirit; a promised fulfilled that needs to be brought to fruition. Assumption/St. Paul & St. Peter the Apostle,  assembly  joined in prayer and affirmation as we recognized the gifts of our youth and encouraged their full and active participation in the life of our faith community. Check out the pictures below!!!

Youth Ministry would like to thank the following people for a successful blood drive that help to save many lives!  To all our parishioners for taking the time to donate your blood, to our volunteer core who help to manage the registration:  Patty DiNallo, Shirley Cyr, Beth Izzo, Patty Finnegan, Margo Perras, Cathy Zullo and to our young people who took time out from school and other activities to serve donors snacks to energize them after giving blood our heartfelt gratitude!

Vincent Trexler was one of  8 blood donors giving  double red cell donations: Although Vince had to wait 90 minutes for the entire visit, the 2 units of blood that was collected would serve twice as many patients with a single donation.  Now we know why the two attendants were happy to see Vincent.

Emma Trexler, Angie Corbett, Mykayla Gowett, Sophie DeCastro and Hollis Zecca had fun serving snacks to our donors.

Angie Tylock, Katelyn Pingelski, Nadine Perras, and Noah Perras also assisted our donors with yummy snacks!
